Grooming
Regular grooming is essential to the maintenance of your pet's health. Keep your pet smelling and looking attractive, prevent parasites, and skin irritations.
Overview
While grooming should be done on a consistent basis, the frequency to which your pet needs to be groomed will depend somewhat on daily routines, coat type, age and general health. In addition, your pet will benefit from regular brushing to remove any loose hairs and dead skin cells, to rid the coat of debris and external parasites, and to disseminate skin oils that form along the hair shafts.
Grooming Services
We can assist in recommending the proper tools to use for your pet's coat type. If your pet suffers from allergies, our veterinarian may prescribe regular bathing as part of the treatment routine. Be sure to notify us of any special needs your pet may require such as specific shampoos or eye care and bring any of these products with you to your appointment. Please schedule your pet's appointment in advance, especially during the warmer summer months and near the holiday seasons. We are happy to offer the following services to assist in the health and maintenance of your pet:
Grooming Services
Ear Cleaning
Anal Gland Expressing
Bathing
Coat Brushing
Shearing
Medical Grooming
We also offer Medical Grooming for both cats and dogs. Medical grooming is a combination of traditional grooming and veterinary expertise to address a pet’s health needs.
It can include:
Sedated Grooming - This is a medical procedure and involves administering sedation to ensure a smooth and stress-free grooming experience for both pets and groomers. Your pet will be monitored by the medical team while being groomed by the groomer. Once grooming has been completed your pet will continue to be monitored while the effects of the sedation wear off.
Please note: Our groomers do amazing work, but with a sedated groom, the haircut won’t be as precise as it would be if the pet were standing. We recommend discussing your pet’s specific needs with our groomer on what can be provided during a sedated groom.
Medicated Baths – Pets who have allergies, dermatological issues, or flea infestations can benefit from a medicated bath.
